In this world of trying to make everything perfect…you start to neglect a few things. I realize that I don’t spend a lot of time re-posting and actually taking the time to write things down anymore. I guess the purpose of this site will be to reflect on things and to reconnect with my thoughts. Show others what I’m thinking and what my be affecting me. So, in my first post in a very long time……here is some food for thought……talk about confusing for the weekend.

Title says it all….getting drung

Watching everything that was going on in New England…..it was amazing to see how we could have every computer model come in and say tons of snow everywhere….but a little maximum in our atmosphere kept totals down in certain parts. It was still a bad storm, don’t get me wrong, just awesome to see the power of nature and to see her influences…even as far south as my part of West Virginia. I predicted 4-8 inches in most parts of the area, but because of moisture being added in here by the low pressure….upslope snow got stronger and we saw ~8 in Oak Hill on Sunday. It is a busted forecast….but it still isn’t as bad as it could have been, seeing the fact that there was no blizzard or repeat of December 18th for us down here.

I just finished putting the touches to my discussion on WOAY’s Website. Now, waiting for the majority of the 0z model runs to come in…..hopefully we will get a clearer picture of what is to come…..otherwise, it could be a really interesting day tomorrow….watching and waiting to see what the models will do.

My homeslice doing the noon

Ever try being optimistic that everything a computer does is happening just to royally piss you off. Take for instance the storm I have been tracking for Christmas eve into Christmas day. Four days ago, there was more agreement between the two long range models. Now, the track has shifted over 500 miles to the south, to the point where, the true definition of a “White Christmas” might not occur.

My belief about a White Christmas is that snow must be falling for it to count…the slush and ugly snow that’s already on the ground should not count. Everyone keeps saying it will still be a one even if the storm is a bust. Granted that is true in the sense, every movie you ever watch, the White Christmas is defined by falling snow…..that’s what I wanted to see for the first time in a long time. I guess my migraine continues and hopes that the models somehow bring the track up far enough to make my wishes and dreams come true. Come to think of it….hopefully Santa got my wish for what I really want for Christmas too.

Euro just came in…..and apparantly all the models want meteorologists to hate their lives….way to go team models on getting this one right……I ask again, can we go back to the runs 3 days ago???

All I know is that if the models keep trending….doesn’t look as impressive for around here…stay tuned for more on the now Christmas Day storm
